Due to the very low contrast requirements, microglyph codes can be created even at controlled material penetration depths of less than 25 µm. Extremely high marking speeds of up to 1200 microglyph cells per second and line widths of 40-200 µm enable very small, robust codes at highest volumes.
Integrated circuit packages employing resin, epoxy or ceramics can be reliably marked with microglyphs, with predictable results. For marking directly on silicon, the use of green instead of invisible infrared laserlight can create codes either in black or in white.
